What Coaches Say About Focus…

Craig Brown, Former Scotland National Team Coach: "The Focus software is a tremendously valuable and powerful coaching tool in terms of both analyzing your matches and developing players."

Craig Levein (Head Coach, Dundee United FC): "The technology is great and we have found it invaluable. The players enjoy it and that is important. There are 15 or 16 themes we analyze but we will only perhaps discuss three or four in the analysis, depending what has happened in that particular match."

George Purgavie, NSCAA Staff Coach, Head Men's Soccer Coach/Associate Professor of Phys Ed. Bates College: "The development of players in the modern game requires modern methods. I find the Focus software to be powerful, versatile and user-friendly. It is a tool that is of major value to coaches searching for the most efficient way to develop their players ability to make an impact in modern soccer."

Brandon Salway, Soccer Coach at Waynflete School, Maine (2001 State Champions and 2001 Gatorade Small School Coach of the Year):
"Focus X2 is a great coaching tool for High School coaches and has been a crucial part of our program's success. I would recommend Focus to any coach searching for an edge."

Interactive Analysis
Focus X2 uses a simple category set structure to provide the coach with the ability to enter the game information that they are interested in, and then to immediately access and review footage of those specific aspects of play. This advanced interactive video technology removes the need to wind forward and back through your game tape by providing immediate access to any aspect of the game. The opportunity to instantly review and analyze, for example, all of your team’s crossing opportunities, your goalkeeper’s distribution or the passing effectiveness of a particular player provides the coach with a more complete and effective analysis of play than ever before.

Match Analysis – Team Analysis – Scouting Opposition
The coach has complete control over the category sets used. We provide templates that have been developed and used by international team and pro-team coaches to be utilized and adapted for your own use. For match analysis and scouting purposes your category set can be set up to analyze key aspects of play by team and by area of the field for example.

Individual Player Analysis & Development
Alternatively, your analysis may concentrate on individual player performance and development. Your Focus category set can be quickly structured to enable information to be entered from an individual player perspective rather than on a team basis. The powerful visual feedback tools built into Focus allow your players to review and better understand their own performance. Focus is therefore used not just to provide game-related feedback but also within practice where it has a central role to play in the development of players.

Using Focus with Players
Focus lets the coach automatically generate highlights movies of any aspects of play and these can be copied onto CD or DVD for your players to review and analyze. For example, all of your team’s corner kicks, all of your opponent’s attacks or everything that your central midfield player did in the game can be automatically put together into a single movie clip in Focus. The interactive viewing facility enhances team video sessions by allowing your analysis to be shown through a data projector for example.
